Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-06-24

These are the plain-English terms for engagements with HelpWithWeb (“I”, “me”). By hiring me for work, you (“client”, “you”) agree to these terms. Anything specific to your project is captured in a written scope + quote we agree on before work starts.

1. Scope of work

Every engagement starts with a written scope. For fixed-fee work, that scope defines exactly what's included. For hourly work, I estimate up front and warn you before I go over. Work outside the agreed scope is either quoted separately or billed hourly with your approval.

2. Pricing & payment

  • Quick Fix ($50+): flat fee for small, well-defined issues. Paid on completion.
  • Standard Fix ($100-$300): flat fee quoted upfront. Paid on completion for jobs under $300, or 50/50 for larger jobs.
  • Monthly Care Plan ($99/mo): billed monthly in advance. Cancel any time — I'll finish the current month.
  • Hourly work: billed weekly or on project completion, whichever comes first. Rate provided in your quote.

Accepted payment methods vary by project size — Stripe, PayPal, bank transfer, and Wise are all common. Payment terms are net 7 days unless otherwise agreed.

3. Timeline & response times

For urgent issues I aim for a response within a few business hours. For quoted work, delivery timelines are agreed in writing. If something is going to slip, I'll tell you before the deadline passes, not after.

Non-urgent responses may take up to 1 business day. Weekend or after-hours availability is by arrangement.

4. Revisions

For fixed-fee work, minor revisions to match the agreed scope are included. Substantive changes (new features, changed requirements) are quoted separately or billed hourly.

5. Access & credentials

You're responsible for providing whatever access I need (admin logins, SFTP, hosting panels, DNS registrar, etc.) to do the work. I'll keep credentials secure and delete them after the engagement unless we're on an ongoing plan.

Where possible, I prefer time-limited or dedicated accounts rather than sharing your primary admin account.

6. Backups & data safety

For any work touching production systems, I take a snapshot beforehand where technically possible. That said, you're responsible for maintaining your own backups — if you don't have working backups, I'll say so and recommend setting them up before we do risky work.

7. What's guaranteed

I stand behind my work. If a fix I made breaks something directly (as opposed to breaking due to a plugin update or unrelated change later), I'll fix it at no additional charge. That guarantee applies for 30 days after delivery unless otherwise stated.

I don't guarantee outcomes I can't control — e.g., I can improve your SEO or speed but I can't guarantee a specific ranking or millisecond load time. Anything performance-related is measured with clear before/after numbers.

8. Cancellation & refunds

Ongoing monthly plans: cancel anytime; the current month is billed in full and no future months are charged.

Fixed-fee work: if I haven't started, full refund. If work is in progress, we prorate based on time invested. If the work is complete, no refund — but see the guarantee above.

9. Ownership

Any custom code or content I produce for you is yours on payment. I retain rights to reusable techniques and generic utilities that don't reference your business.

10. Confidentiality

I treat everything you share with me — codebases, credentials, business info, client lists — as confidential. I'm happy to sign an NDA if your company requires one.

11. Limitation of liability

I do my best but I'm one person and not immune to mistakes. My total liability for any claim relating to a specific engagement is limited to the amount you paid me for that engagement.

I'm not liable for lost revenue, lost profits, or consequential damages arising from ordinary work. I carry general liability insurance appropriate for the scale of work I do — details available on request.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where I'm based. For any dispute we can't resolve informally, we'll try mediation before litigation.

13. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms occasionally. Changes only apply to new engagements starting after the update date. Existing projects keep the terms in effect when they started.
